He was born to in about 1726 in Virginia to Richard Snowden Kirkland (1705 - 1722) and Mary Brown (c.1705 - ?) and died in Dec 1787 on his way to London to have his claims examined. He married before 1760 in Orangeburg County, South Caroline his first wife, Patience Raiford (c.1740 - ?). He married in about 1783 in St. George's Par, Jamaica, West Indies his second wife, Catherine Bruce (c.1750 - ?) His wrote his will on 8 Nov 1786.
