In 1662 and on 28 Aug 1665 he was elected Justice of the Peace of Somerset County, Maryland, North America. On 15 Aug 1663 in Somerset County, Maryland, North America he was elected Commissioner of the Easter Shore for one year along with John Elsey ( - ), Randall Revell ( - ) and Capt. John Odber ( - ). On 26 May 1664 in Maryland, North America he was empowered by Gov. Charles Calvert ( - ) along with Capt. William Thorne ( - ), Mr. William Bozeman, Esq. ( - ), for six months to grant warrants for land that was within the Provence of the Easter Shore of Maryland, North America.
